Founded in 2003, Betty Holding AG brought to life a new concept for interactive television. The main component was a new generation of TV remote controls which could interact in real time via a display with the current TV program. Based on the Betty technology, broadcasters could set up interactive television platforms, for example for gaming, voting, or shopping. Betty’s technology relied on the existing analog or digital TV infrastructure and enabled real time communication between television viewers and broadcasters. In 2006, Target Partners sold its stake in the company to Swisscom AG.
